Nowhere Records is proud to announce that as of... well now you can find in our web store or on iTunes the latest release from Chicago's Remaindermen.

The seven songs on Border States take the psych-pop form that the band honed under their original moniker Trio In Stereo as a foundation but from that bedrock rises towering structures of grace and beauty.

From the infectious hooks of O'Immaculate, which you can listen to to whet your appetite on the music section of the band's website, straight through to the deliciously melancholy chords of Tides in this record boils over with honest human experience funneled through strings, keys, muscles and electricity.

We suspect that if these songs don't effect you each in turn you may, in fact, be some sort of robot... a cold heartless robot. You would then have our pity.

We encourage you to run right on over to the store and order up a copy or four of this wonderful record.  And we would like to let you know that you are not only supporting a great band, but that 20% of all Profit (to the label not from the band's cut) will be going to the Sweet Relief Musician's Fund for all records sold in the first 6 months of this release.  This is double our normal donation to this fine organization and we are thrilled to be working with them as well.

Don't forget to mark your calendar for July 2nd as well as the band will be having their record release show in Chicago at the Beat Kitchen, get your tickets now!

Nowhere Records Announces: Tirra Lirra: Pink Live Forever - Release

blog_cover.pngIt is difficult to describe what it feels like to release a new record. especailly when that record moves you. That’s prertty much all we do here at Nowhere, and it's a great feeling.  But even here there come bands with sounds that we just fall in love with, Tirra Lirra is one of those bands.

We had heard Tirra Lirra play this music live a few times and knew it was joy incarnate to listen to.  Which was why we were excited to hear they were recording. Excited might not cover it really... but regardless it was a happy moment.

Then David was talking to Chris Mathis and heard that they were having some difficulties with getting it put out, they were talking about self releasing so David gave them info for record pressing and a general idea of what it costs.  Just hoping to hear this record soon David went on his merry way.

But the troubles persisted until we worried that the record would never make it out of the studio.  Then David had a brilliant idea: I run a label why don't I just put the damn thing out?  And so here it is.  a record that more than anything we just wanted to hear.  and hear it we did.  David brought the master disk in and it played for three days straight before any of us even thought to change it.  We were more contemplative that week, struck by the dense beauty this is Tirra Lirra's Pink Live Forever

We are thrilled that this amazing record can be available to listen to and honored that the band would allow us to put our dirty mitts on it in the first place.  but it's like David said: this is a great damn record... it would be a sin not to but it out.
