I love this song. this is the one that really won me over. the tribalism of the drums, the lush vocals, the dreamy ethereal guitar and synth you find yourself swept away and drowned in this sound. It's one of those things that I can listen to a million times and never tire of. and that's before I even started paying attention to what the vocals were actually saying. seriously. this is what we love here this is what we look for: music that has a life, a story and depth. now if you will excuse me I have to go listen to Pink Live Forever again
Into the Light Carol Anne :: Velorum

it is hard to take any song out of context from Into the Light Carol Anne. these songs are linked arm and arm and call each other on the weekends just to see how things are going. the only reason this one works all along i think is that they recorded it with full knowledge that this is where I was going to have to break the set up to start side B. as a result the end of Dolphin is not 100% a requirement to make the begining of Velorum work. and work it does, the bass starts with a challenge, the guitar comes back with equal fire, goaded on by the drums and the fiddle tries to make every one play nice... and then unexpectedly they do. this song has all the things i love about this band in it: break-neck changes in rhytms disparate use of themes winding in and being discarded easily and as the band calls it "spackle" deep textural elements layerd on top of the whole thing. I know people have chuckled at a mere five songs (no matter how long) being called a symphony but Symphony for Dolphin and Duck lives up to that moniker and then some.
it has come to my attention that the music player may not work properly (or even be visible) on safari on the mac. Every other browser on every other platform (even safari on XP) works like a charm so we are dumbfounded. if anyone has any ideas how to fix this please let me know! for your mac heads appologies, if you email us we will be more than happy to reply with direct links to any and all of these tracks.
